A Heart With No Love

She sat in the corner at her lonely eating place
An old wearisome lady with no pride just disgrace
In her shame she ate hoping not to spill a drop
Her quivery hands slipped, and from the floor came a plop

Her daughter came and yelled, "Can't you do anything right"
She screamed and shouted with all her might
"You useless lady, why am I stuck with you,
You waste of a human, is there nothing right you can do?"

The lady slunked back in her shameful spot
left here to fade away, she couldn't bear the thought
Watching her daughter , a lady with no heart
Tears in her eyes, she didn't want to take part

Where were those days where we sat and played
Rolling in the fields, care free every day
Then brought out the food, sat down and ate
Soon gazed at the stars until it was late

Took my sleeping daughter, brought her to bed
Waiting for what the next day led

But those days are no more, gone away with the wind
Now A worthless lady, old and thinned

No more joy, happiness, laughter and fun
No more good works of love to be done

To sit in this corner, hoping for a miracle one day
"Oh Lord, help me, for to you I pray"
